Preparing Artwork for Large-Format Printing
Artists and designers create large-format prints (posters, banners, gallery wraps) that require images at extreme resolutions. Files must be sized for print at 150-300 DPI at physical dimensions that can exceed 10 feet.
Workflow
- Create or export the artwork at the highest possible resolution
- Use the Image Resizer to scale to the exact physical print dimensions at 150-300 DPI
- Use the Image Converter to save in the print service's required format (TIFF for max quality, JPEG for upload)
- Use the Image Compressor on the upload copy to meet the print service's file size limits
- Verify color accuracy by comparing on a calibrated monitor
- Upload to the print service and request a proof before the full print run
