About Convert Image

Convert images between JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats in your browser. Switch from PNG to WebP for smaller files, convert WebP to JPEG for compatibility, or save as PNG for lossless quality.

How It Works

The image is loaded and drawn onto a Canvas element, then re-encoded in the target format using the Canvas API's convertToBlob method. When converting to JPEG (which has no transparency), a white background is automatically added behind transparent areas.

Step by Step

  1. 1 Upload one or more images (JPEG, PNG, or WebP)
  2. 2 Select the output format: WebP, JPEG, or PNG
  3. 3 Adjust the quality slider for JPEG and WebP output
  4. 4 Click Convert to process your images
  5. 5 Download the converted files

Tips

  • WebP produces 25-35% smaller files than JPEG at similar quality.
  • Use PNG when you need transparency or lossless quality.
  • JPEG is the most compatible format — works everywhere.
  • Converting PNG→JPEG will flatten transparency to a white background.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which format should I use?
WebP for web (best compression), JPEG for compatibility (photos), PNG for transparency or lossless quality (graphics, screenshots).
Does converting lose quality?
Converting to JPEG or WebP with quality < 100% causes some loss. PNG is always lossless. Converting between lossy formats compounds quality loss slightly.
